R. E. KIRBY KIRCH, CPM®

Vice President / Portland Branch Manager

Kirby Kirch, our Vice President and Portland Branch Manager, began his career in the property management field as a Resident Manager with Income Property Management Company in the spring of 1983. As a student at the University of Oregon, he worked part time as the Resident Manager of a large condominium project in Eugene, Oregon.

After receiving a Bachelors Degree in 1985 from the School of Business, Kirby transferred to our Portland office and became a Property Manager, responsible for several downtown commercial and residential apartment buildings.

Currently, as Branch Manager, Kirby oversees the operations of both our residential and commercial property management departments. Kirby's extensive background in both residential and commercial management in the Portland market gives him the necessary tools to successfully supervise all aspects of our Portland office operation.

Kirby has been instrumental in several large acquisitions of our Portland branch and is a key player in the expansion of IPM's territory throughout the Willamette Valley with new properties in Salem, Albany, Eugene, and Vancouver, Washington. Included among this group is a 55-unit high-rise building near Portland State University; a 60-unit historical building in downtown Portland; and a landmark, mixed-use building located in prime Northwest Portland.

Kirby plays an active role in the operation of all our accounts to ensure that we successfully meet the goals and objectives of each of our clients. For example, he has assisted several existing clients with major renovations of their buildings including that of a building listed on the Historic Register. These renovation projects have included exterior painting; roof and window replacement; electrical service upgrade; elevator A17.3; energy efficient lighting upgrades; and exterior siding.

Having completed his requirements, Kirby is a CPM® with the Institute of Real Estate Management. In addition, he has obtained his Oregon Real Estate License and continues to participate in the Portland branch of IREM, where he served three years on the Executive Council and has been the Legislative Committee Chairperson. Kirby is also an active member of the Metro Multi-Family Association, where he served as a Board Member for three years and as the Treasurer of the Association.
